If you’re single on this upcoming Valentine’s Day, you’re not alone girl. We all want to be in the arms of our prince charming. This month can be pretty hard on those who are yearning to be in a committed relationship. However, it’s not the end of the world if you’re not in a relationship right now.
Singleness is a Gift
Singleness is a blessing. Take this special time in your life to get to know yourself in and out, focus on building your career, and setting up a successful future for yourself. Prepare yourself to be found by your future husband. When the time is right, you’ll meet the man God has ordained for you.
And remember, your single season should be fun. Cherish this time as you don’t have any major responsibilities with a family just yet, so focus on building a great life for yourself.
6 Ways to Celebrate Yourself
- Solo Date or Trip. Yep, you heard that right. Go to your favorite restaurant or book a flight to a explore a destination on your bucket list. I recently went on a solo dining experience, and I actually enjoyed myself. Now, I’m not sure if you would want to dine solo on Valentine’s Day. But hey, you just might meet your new boo.
- Celebrate Galentines with your besties. Host a special get-together with your girlfriends and celebrate Galentines Day. It’s a fun way to celebrate your friendships and kickstart the Valentine’s festivities. Plan a boho picnic, wine night, or even a sleepover.
- Cater to You. Don’t wait for someone else to get your Valentines goodies. Girl, grab yourself a bouquet of flowers and fill a gift bag with your favs. Drop a candle, chocolates, sweetheart candies, a journal, and many other goodies in that bag. If you’re feeling fancy, write yourself a self-love note on a greeting card.
- Treat yourself to a spa day. I can’t think of anything more relaxing than a day at the spa. Pamper yourself with a massage, facial, pedicure, body wrap, etc. Don’t forget to check out Groupon for deals on massage services. You can snag really good spa deals and save some coins on Groupon girl.
- Revamp Your Space. I love clearing out old items to make room for the new. Take time to re-organize your home and make your space cozy.
- Go to a Comedy Show. Laughter is the best remedy to boost your mood and it’s also great for your soul. Check out your local improv comedy club for their schedule of comedian shows. And, if you want to stay at home, stream one of the latest comedy specials on Netflix. Katt Williams is my favorite comedian. He is so freaking hilarious!!!
Want to get back on the dating scene?
Here are a few ideas to meet other single peps if you’re ready to get back on the dating scene:
- Start a new hobby. Meet like-minded men while you’re doing activities that you love. You’ll be surprised who you bump into while you least expect it.
- Church. One of the best ways to meet a God fearing man, is in the walls of your church.
- Online Dating. Ready to swipe left? Online dating is very popular, and you just might meet a potential suitor in the digital realm. Proceed with Caution though! If you’re planning to date online, be very cautious. Unfortunately, we live in a world with crazy people. So, be on the lookout for suspicious behavior and unusual requests. Always stay alert!
- Speed Dating. This dating style can be very fun. You just might spark a great connection with someone while meeting multiple suitors at the same time.
- Friend & Family Recommendations. Your closest friends and family members can suggest promising potential candidates. They know you best, so trust their suggestions.
