Hey guys! What’s happening!!!!!!! I’m so excited to be back on the blog with a quick life update. Over the last few months, I have been a little MIA here on the blog. So much has been changing in my life (including a career change and the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic) and I def needed to take a little me-time to reset, relax, and chill. It was a hard decision to step away from growing my new blog and potentially losing new readers, but I am glad I listened to my heart and took the time I needed to clear my mind. I feel so much better.
And did I mention, it’s officially my first year blogging anniversary here at SIMPLYTAMI.COM. Whoop, whoop, I made it!!! I’m excited to celebrate with you all!!!! Your support for my blogging adventure has been so greatly appreciated.
Here’s a little insight into what I’ve been up to…..
1.] I Started a New Career in the Mortgage Industry.
In February, I embarked on a new career at a local mortgage firm. This career change came with a deep dive into learning new concepts, processes, and a vast amount of information. I’m thankful for the month-long break because it gave me extra time to study for a rigorous licensing exam.
I’m so excited that I can help others accomplish their dreams of homeownership. I am truly thankful for this new career change. God has blessed me in so many ways, and sometimes I pinch myself because his grace and mercy is so amazing.
2.] Coronavirus Came Out of Nowhere
I never imagined living in a time such as this!!! COVID-19 literally came out of nowhere. Adjusting to social distancing has been a surprisingly freeing. I was blessed to have the opportunity to work from home and I love my solitude.
Throughout this experience, I have chosen to look at the glass half full and take this time to ask myself what “normal” really looks like. My usual day-to-day was always fast pace and on-the-go. I would eat unhealthy fast foods daily, chase success, and fight through Florida traffic.
My new normal looks a little different………….. First, I have limited my intake of fast-food restaurants. It’s super hard to neglect the convenience of fast food, but I have a weight goal in mind and I’m not stopping until I get back to my ideal weight. And besides, quarantine forced me to cook and I’m thankful for it. Secondly, can we say glowing skin? With the extra time on my hands, I have researched skincare routines (and I’ll be sharing my new regimen very soon 😉). And lastly, as I mentioned before, this quarantine experience has given me a deep appreciation for this little thing called LIFE.
3.] I Needed a Lil Me-Time
I needed a mini-break to focus on my goals and what I really want to achieve (short and long term). Also, with extra time on my hands due to COVID-19, I’ve paid close attention to my mind, body, and spirit. I needed to detox in my own space, free from others, and day-to-day distractions.
Let’s just say, the last couple of months were the most relaxing and drama-free. I kinda wish I could do it all over again (but without COVID-19 lingering).
4.] Re-booting of SimplyTami.com
And most importantly, I’ve been working on new blog content. It’s lit and I can’t wait to share some inspirational content with my ladies. So sit tight, I promise this next year will be filled with some great treats.
Stay tuned!!!!
Take time to make your soul happy!
Now that I’ve given you guys a little insight into why I stepped away for a little while, I’m happy to say I’M BACK!!!! And I cannot wait to share the projects that I have been working on. I miss blogging and all the creativity that comes along with it. Most importantly, I miss engaging with my girls!!!
One final thought… I highly recommend taking a little time to refresh your soul, especially now while we’re dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak. It’s perfectly alright to take a little time for yourself to make sure you are truly happy and in a good headspace.
Stay blessed, safe, and encouraged.
Much love!
